how to cook the perfect steak in 3 easy steps

Frequently Asked Questions Part 3: Product Information

It's very easy to understand and to use the Cinder Grill.  However, more information is better than less. So, we've provided some answers to frequently asked questions! Moreover, they create an overview of the world's first smart electric grill.

We’ve divided the FAQ into four sections for clarity. This one is Product Information. The others are Cooking on the Cinder Grill, Operating the Cinder Grill, and Purchasing & Shipping

Q: How is the Cinder Grill different from a George Foreman Grill or other electric grill?

Control and precision.

A typical electric grill heats unevenly across its surface. Therefore, you still need to monitor the process and guess when the food may be done. Even in the best case your food is unevenly cooked, because of those temperature variations. However, the Cinder Precision Grill uses thermal sensing technology, first developed for the aerospace industry. The Cinder evenly heats its grill plates and maintains 1 degree (°F) of precision across the entire surface.

Q: What are the dimensions of the Cinder Grill?

The Cinder's two grill plates measure 9.75" x 8.75" (Width x Depth). The electric grill itself measures 13" x 17" x 7" (Width x Depth x Height) when closed. It also has a maximum vertical height of just under 18" when opened.

Q: What are the plates made of?

Our heating plates are anodized ceramic around an aluminum core. This is a bonded nonstick surface, an integral part of the plates. Because of that bonding, it won't flake away into food. The plates contain no Teflon and no PTFE/PFOA.  In addition, the top plate can pivot up and down to maximize surface area contact with food.

Q: What are the voltage requirements of the Cinder Grill?

The Cinder Grill runs on 110V.  Therefore, for 220V you need a transformer.  The required specs: at least 3000 watts, able to step up from 110 to 220, and to handle a draw of 20A during searing. Feel free to contact us at help@cindergrill.com for more information.
